We have frames that we hang on our walls, one belonging to each of my children and we change the art in it each month. They love showing off their art and it is a fun way to display their art. We usually do something seasonal. This month for Valentine’s Day, we did a heart resist painting. This is a fun and simple Valentine’s Heart Art Activity for Kids.
For this activity you’ll need:
- Heavy White Paper
- Purple and Pink Kid Paint
- Foam Heart
- Paint Brushes (These are my favorite for toddlers)
- Blue Tape
- Glitter (optional)
Heart Resist Painting
Step 1– First put some blue tape on your heart and tape it to the center of your white card stock.
Step 2- Pour your pink and purple paint into cups
Step 3- Have your child paint all around the heart, filling up all the white.
Let them be creative and paint how ever they like. This is process art, so the fun is in the process.
Step 4– At this point, while the paint is still wet you can add your glitter. Then carefully peel off the heart.
Be sure to let it dry if you plan to hang it in your frame, I learned that the hard way. This is an easy heart painting activity that would be great for Valentine’s Day.
